Inauguration celebrations in Poland
The US embassy in Warsaw organized activities to coincide with President Barack Obama's inauguration on Tuesday
An official reception of Polish leaders and governmental VIPs, was held on Tuesday at the American ambassador's residence in Warsaw. Around 150 dignitaries gathered for the festivities among who were Cardinal Józef Glemp (Archbishop emeritus of Warsaw), Janusz Reiter (former Polish ambassador to the US) and Maciej Nowicki (Polish Environment Minister).
The US embassy also hosted an evening at Warsaw's Hard Rock Café. Isis Gee, an American singer who represented Poland in the 2008 Eurovision song festival, performed several hit songs which included a song she wrote for Barack Obama entitled,“Times of change.” The event was open to the public, and was attended by local media.
