Sweeping personnel changes in Mittal Steel Poland?
According to sources, during this Friday's general shareholders meeting of steel maker Mittal Steel Poland, some changes in the composition of the supervisory board are expected and these are likely to be followed by changes in the management board.
"Most likely Frantisek Chowaniec will no longer be the president," said a representative of the company. Jacek Mireński, responsible for press relations of the investor, stressed that the general shareholders meeting should give acceptance to the report of management board for 2004 and accept the balance sheet, but there were no plans to make personal changes. Mittal often changes the locations of its directors within the group, but it is unknown what special tasks await Chowaniec, nor who could replace him. The new president faces a difficult task of halving the employment to 10,400 and implementing planned investments. (Puls Biznesu, pp. 1, 3) M.M.
