Poland is an offshoring powerhouse
Poland was ranked as the fifth most attractive site for offshoring investments in the world.
The ranking, published by the Economist Intelligence Unit in cooperation with Dimension Data and Oracle Corporation, examined different measures of economic attractiveness, such as proximity, political and security risk, stability, regulatory environment, tax regime, labor skills and labor costs and infrastructure. Offshoring projects include call centers, service facilities, IT services and regional headquarters, and are one of the most important forces in determining the business environment.
According to the ranking, the Central and Eastern European region offers great opportunities to investors interested in offshoring. Six countries from the region were classified in the top 15, with Poland ranked as the fifth-most-attractive offshoring environment. Only India, China, regional rival Czech Republic and Singapore achieved a higher score. Other regional rivals, Hungary and Slovakia, were ranked 8th and 12th respectively. Alongside strong scores across a wide range of indicators, economic, geographic and historical ties with Western Europe, a culturally similar labor force and the language skills of Eastern Europeans contributed to the region's good showing.
