BT eyes top international corporations as it expands operations in Poland
Following the introduction of BT Mobile, a venture servicing business clients with mobile telecom solutions on the British market back in November last year, British Telecom (BT) has positively evaluated the project and announced plans to transfer this idea to other European countries.
The telecom however excludes the possibility of taking part in the tender for the GSM and UMTS frequencies organized by the Post and Telecommunication Regulation Office (URTiP). "We have the know-how and the funds for inv estments, but we will not run in the bid for the fourth mobile operator. In order to run a good mobile business you do not need to own frequencies," said Aad van Waveren, BT's deputy president responsible for the Central and Eastern Europe. BT plans to expand on the domestic market concentrating on traditional telecommunication, and is currently analyzing the potential of international corporations and the public administration sector.
