Canadian concern Petro-Canada, specializing in mining crude oil and producing oils for the automotive, pharmaceutical and food sectors, has entered the Polish market.

The company has signed a contract whereby Kraków-based Variant will distribute its oil and auto chemicals through 23 outlets. "We operate in the sector of advanced technologies and our offer begins where the upper end of price and technological offers of concerns such as Shell or BP ends," said Grzegorz Trojanowski, Petro-Canada's representative for Central and Eastern Europe. The President of the Polish Chamber of Liquid Fuels (PIPP) Aurelia Kuran-Puszkarska commented that the new company would have to spend a lot on advertising and promotion to convince clients to change their habits.
