Schroders and Societe Generale funds target Poland

Renown foreign asset management companies are preparing to introduce the offers of investment funds registered abroad on the Polish market.

These would include Societe Generale of France and Britain's Schroders. "We have plans to enter the market. We are currently analyzing the changes in the regulations managing the activities of investments funds. We want to offer our products as soon as possible," said Francois Bazin, the director for distribution of funds in Societe Generale (SG) headquarters in Paris, adding that they are also in talks with largest banks which could take part in selling the products. SG plans to initially offer the Luxemburg-registered umbrella fund, within which customers can choose up to 48 different investment strategies. According to unofficial information, Citibank is also considering offering units in foreign investment funds. (Parkiet, p. 1) A.K.
